Yamaha Young Performing Artist Sophia Lo crafts captivating musical experiences as a solo percussionist based in Dallas, TX. She has performed in venues like Dvorak Hall and Bela Bartok National Concert Hall and at international festivals including Percussion Meets Identity in Austria and the Zeltsman Marimba Festival. An accomplished competitor, Lo has won awards at prestigious competitions such as Great Plains International Marimba Competition, Mid-Missouri Percussive Arts Trophy, and placed 2nd at the 2024 Southern California Marimba International Artist Competition as part of MouSai Duo.

As a committed educator, Lo presents masterclasses nationwide and teaches private lessons at Allen ISD. She is a doctoral candidate and former graduate teaching fellow at the University of North Texas. Outside of music, she enjoys cooking with her two cats and visiting the rock climbing gym.
